Job BriefCome work at a chic boutique hotel! As a House Person
you will ensure proper maintenance and cleaning to the hotel
through fulfillment of guest requests and on-going preventative
maintenance.The Chateau at Lake La Quinta is a chic boutique hotel
with a gorgeous lakeside view, picturesque surroundings, and
beautifully-appointed hotel rooms. Energetic and vibrant, with an
intoxicating mix of attentive service and desert solitude, The
Chateau is fresh from a $3.5 million renovation, offering an
unforgettable resort experience.RESPONSIBILITIES:Apply the
standards of the Chateau at Lake La Quinta Mission Statement every
day at work.Maintain a flexible work scheduleEffectively fulfill
guest maintenance requests in a timely manner and complete all work
orders.Perform basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, mechanical,
HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, tile work, carpeting, and
concrete.Follow all safety procedures.Operate electrical equipment
such as extractor, power drills and mechanical snakes in a safe and
effective manner.Provide a proper greeting to the guest at their
room, and announce what your purpose is.Smile and greet the guests
as you encounter them throughout your shift.Keep a clean and safe
work area.Assist other departments as requested in a timely and
proactive manner.Assist the guest whenever and however you can:
listen carefully to what they need and respond.Your uniform is
clean and properly worn with your name tag.Ability to read, write
and communicate verbally in EnglishMulti-tasking skills.Enjoys a
fast paced environment.Ability to present self in a professional,
pleasant, confident and well-groomed manner.Keep hotel public areas
inside and out, clean and stocked on an on-going basis throughout
the shift and as scheduled or instructed by management.Clean (and
stock if necessary) the employee areas throughout the shift and as
scheduled or instructed by Housekeeping management.Make deliveries
to guest rooms for guest requested items such as amenities,
rollaway beds, bedding, etc.Service and clean rooms at departure
and as stayovers as needed or directedPerform maintenance duties
such as change light bulb or batteries for the TV remote control,
plunging of a toilet, carpet cleaning; tile cleaning, painting and
landscaping.Adhere to the hotel procedures for reporting
maintenance problems found in guest rooms and public areas.Adhere
to the Hotel's Key Control policy when handling your issued
keys.Adhere to the Hotel's lost and found procedures in finding
items in guest rooms or public areas.Follow instructions for
stocking linen and/or supply closets.Complete any special projects
as given by the Management,Follow instructions in use of all
chemicals and cleaning agents, including the use of personal
protective equipment.Follow all Hotel and department safety rules
as instructed by manager or Hotel Safety Director. Report any
safety hazard immediately.Report any on the job injury to your
manager regardless of how minor you think the injury might be.Other
duties as assigned which may include performing duties other than
those listed in this position description in the Housekeeping
department or other department in the Hotel.Follow and adhere to
hotel Preventative Maintenance Program and ensure completion on a
daily basis.Communicate issues regarding the physical plant to
Management In a timely manner.REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:Must have
effective oral and written communication skills.Minimum of six
months experience in resort maintenance preferred.Must have working
knowledge of minor power tool operation.Great organizational
skills.Excellent communication skills.PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL &

standing and mobility. Requires bending and reaching. Requires
transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up
to 50 lbs. Requires eye/hand coordination. Requires use of
professional food service equipment and machinery. Requires basic
math. Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and
symbols. Ability to and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job
Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other
