Desert Jet is currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of Director of Maintenance for their Part 135 Charter Organization located in Thermal, CA (KTRM.) This is an onsite position, requiring the candidate to live in or relocate to the area. Thermal is located in the Coachella Valley which contains the resort cities of Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Indio, La Quinta, Indian Wells and Cathedral City The greater Palm Springs area offers something for everyone - beautiful weather, low cost of living and ample opportunities for fun and adventure. Position Summary The Director of Maintenance is responsible for managing all aspects of the Part 135 Maintenance Department ensuring adherence to regulatory, procedural, safety and quality compliance. They oversee all maintenance events for Desert Jet aircraft and ensure that they remain in an airworthy condition and in accordance with FAA and company regulations. This position requires a self-motivated candidate with strong time management skills and a flexible schedule. Duties include: + Coordinate, plan and schedule all functions within the department to ensure a proper flow of activities. + Complies with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and the General Maintenance Manual (GMM) by conducting periodic reviews of each department and their management. + Submits reports and summary reports to the FAA with compliance. + Maintains a close liaison with the local FAA maintenance inspectors. + Will assure that all maintenance, inspection, overhaul and repair manuals for Company aircraft are kept up to date + Will assist with the writing and updating of maintenance procedures specified in all Company Manuals. + Maintain and update a current status with the Aircraft Inspection Status Reports. + Adds or deletes any aircraft from Operations Specifications. + Making decisions based on aircraft airworthiness and safety, prioritizing for maintenance scheduling, and planning costs. + Schedules and coordinates all maintenance and inspections performed on Company aircrafts and insures their compliance. + The Director of Maintenance may delegate all duties assigned to any qualified delegate as necessary; however, it does not relieve him/her of overall responsibilities. + Responsible for any additional duties assigned by the Director of Operations. Job Requirements + Previous experience in Part 135 operations. + Managerial experience. + FAA airframe and powerplant (A&P) license. + Experience and training on Cessna Citation airframes. + Must meet the requirements of FAR 119.71.
